Heatherset is an exceptional Regency residence of character, in the most elegant of tree lined roads. Listed Grade II, it is of historic and architectural interest, and is situated in what is arguably the finest position within the Clifton Hill Conservation area.
Being located in the most central of positions, at the corner of Montpelier Villas and Montpelier Terrace amongst other properties of a similar period. Built in about 1845 Montpelier Villas is lined with Italianate homes which have ironwork balconies and verandas.
It is particularly notable for the splendor of the Regency and Victorian architecture which characterizes many of the properties. The area was extensively developed from the 1820s and became known as one of the most up-market areas of Brighton.
Clifton Hill and Montpelier were developed from the 1820s to the 1860s and were considered at the time to be the most salubrious part of the town. Today they are an outstanding area of conservation with fine examples of Regency and Victorian architecture.
